MERCE CUNNINGHAM
A Tribute to Merce Cunningham in his 90th Year

The highly esteemed choreographer and dancer Merce Cunningham recently celebrated his 90th birthday. This exhibition includes ten of his drawings of real and imaginary animals showcasing his interest in static and moving forms. Although Cunningham is not widely known as a visual artist, he has been drawing daily for over 25 years. The show also features artwork and documentation by his friends and collaborators such as Robert Rauschenberg. Also included will be photographs of Cunningham by Barbara Morgan, Clemens Kalischer and Imogen Cunningham (no relation) and films directed by Cunningham and Elliot Caplan.
