Ik-Joong Kang

This suite of prints was created from 576 individual blocks hand cut by the artist and inked with 48 colors. The nine prints start with a primarily yellow print and proceed through a color progression to a primarily blue print. The singl print (8 x 8 x 1) was created by choosing individual blocks from the 576 and printing them in a more random color order. The edition is printed on Rives BFK heavywieght paper.

Born in 1960, in Cheong Ju, Korea, Ik-Joong Kang has lived and worked in New York City since 1984. He received his BFA from Hong-Ik University in Seoul, Korea, and his MFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.
